Jim Cole found this cool write up on the original brushless motor pattent and they 3d printed a working model of it. Now that is a cool angle to pull up old patents to teach about technogly that hadn't changed much

Auto Desk has a cloud based version of any Arduino as well. I have not done any complicated projects in it but the simple stuff works. E-waste cnc plotter from old dvd drives. Depending on how much the kit would cost It would be fun to have interested kids build their own and take it home We could expand this to a bigger plotter or cnc printer once we got the basics down.
