Current Computer Assignments and Usage (1/2017) -
1. The old Toshiba Laptop that was the drive station from previous years need to be maintain as-is. It is now assigned to be bundled with Chuck and Chuck alone. This means that both Chuck and the Toshiba should not upgrade anything FRC related on them (because the WPILib has changed quite a bit).
2. The 3 Windows desktop's primary usage should be for CAD and other related usage. (looking up and putting together purchase order for robot).
3. The Linux station for now is to act as our Print Server. Its 2nd purpose is to be used as the FRC field/robot simulator if we ever to get to that. Other than that, this machine can be used as a general web/purchase lookup machine.
[Update 1/15/2017 - Linux station is currently dead. Will look at replacing it with a PI print server.]
4. We have acquired 5 new laptops from Comcast (thanks to Mr. Cole). They are assigned as:
--- L10 and L14 are for general use.
--- L11 - Main Drive Station.
--- L12 - Main Code Development Station.
--- L13 - Backup Drive Station/2nd Code Dev Station.
For 2017, Garrick will be in charge of L11, L12 and L13. Under no circumstances should anyone be using these 3 machines except for their assigned purposes unless authorized by a Coach or Mentor.
